NIGERIA FOCUS @MIFA 2025 | PARTNERS PITCHES
Short films, Feature films, TV Series & Specials
The French Embassy in Nigeria is collaborating with the Animation Film Festival in Annecy and its market (MIFA) to showcase market-ready Nigerian projects, enabling up to five projects to participate in a workshop in Lagos, with the support of Animation Nigeria. The Mifa Partners Pitches, whether they are Feature Films, Short Films, TV Series & Specials or Digital Experiences, are designed to reveal the best original animation film projects in an advanced stage of development.
With an international dimension, the Mifa Pitches make room for diversity and offer an eclectic selection, whether geographical, artistic, or technical. The selected authors present their projects to an audience of professionals and enthusiasts, in the hope of receiving future support.
Calendar
Open call:
Open call launch: Wednesday 9 April
Closing of the Open call: Saturday 19 April at 12PM, noon (WAT).
Announcement of the selected projects:
the selected project holders will be contacted no later than
30 April 2025.
Project Workshop: May 20 - 23, 2025
Annecy 2025: June 10 - 13, 2025
Selection
Only files that are complete and meet the conditions of the regulations below will be submitted to a jury made up of the French Embassy in Nigeria and the experts. Five project holders will be selected to take part in the Workshop.
Submission Terms
Only projects that are in development, sufficiently advanced, or completely developed to meet the market will be accepted. Whatever category you are competing for, only projects with a complete digital file will be considered.
Registration is free of charge.
The digital file must:

Respect the regulations for the category concerned;

Be downloaded in the form of one single PDF file.
The ideal project would have completed at least the following:

Synopses of springboard episodes
Projects must be registered by its author(s), and in compliance with these regulations irrespective of the filmmaking techniques used (traditional or new, containing a minimum of 50% animation), target audience, genre (fiction, documentary, educational, experimental, etc.), age and nationality of the author(s).
Free rein is given for the general presentation as long as all the other required documents are in the file. Nevertheless, we will mention that projects presented with care shall be more attractive to the readers.
Authorization to Broadcast
By accepting the present regulations, the entrant authorizes the organizer and CITIA to reproduce and show, for free, graphic and audiovisual elements from the project such as a trailer, teaser or pilot supplied on registration, on all its communication mediums.
Disputes
Participation in these Calls for Projects implies unconditional agreement to the terms of the present regulations.

Short Films
Required documents for submitting an animation short film project.
Narrative Elements (on average between 5 and 10 pages)

Feature Films
